A. Glenn Spencer 1917 ~ 2008 A. Glenn Spencer, 91, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 3, 2008 surrounded by loved ones. He was born January 30, 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alma Baker Spencer and Alta M. Maxfield, the oldest of five children. Glenn served in WWII as a Lieutenant. He married Anna Lea Lloyd November 15, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple and they spent 64 wonderful years together. Glenn was generous, cheerful, loving and devoted to his family as well as being a perfect gentleman in saying, Thank you. He was very positive. He loved teaching harmonica and tennis classes. He enjoyed reading books to enhance his knowledge. His memory was sharp as a tack. He graduated from the University of Utah. Later became a CPA. He received The Golden Zucchini award for helping the Division of Youth Services plant a garden and Mentor of the Year award in 2004 from Governor Walker. He also served on the Gemco Scholarship Foundation. He was active in scouting and was president of the Liahona Club. Survived by his children: Glenn (Karen) Spencer, Patricia Anne Spencer, Doug (Connie) Spencer, Elizabeth Lea (Erik) Konstad and Sara Lea (Paul) Bury; 18 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren; sister, Vivian Frisbey. Preceded in death by his wife; parents; 2 sisters; 1 brother; son, Norman Lloyd Spencer. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 9, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville 15th Ward, 1457 West Atherton Drive (4375 S.) Interment, Kaysville Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
