Albert P. Montoya, Jr., 85, of Tucson, AZ, passed away peacefully to his home with the Lord on January 7, 2015. Albert was born August 3, 1929 to Alberto and Cruz Montoya in Clifton, AZ. Albert graduated from Clifton High School in 1948 and completed the International Correspondence School in mechanics. He worked for the Phelps Dodge Corporation for 34 years, for the town of Clifton for 9 years, and retired in 1992. He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, sitting on the front porch, and fishing. He loved to have picnics at Cherry Lodge on the Coronado Trail. Albert is survived by Estella, his wife of 64 years; sons, Albert Sonny (Deborah), Buddy (Mary), and Alex (Cheryl) Montoya, daughter Linda Montoya, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sister Gloria Brown, brother Ralph Montoya, and cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Juanita Lopez and his grandson Steven Montoya. A viewing for Albert will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. with the Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton, AZ. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with interment to follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
