Alfonso P. Zepeda entered eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on May 18, 2024. Alfonso "Poncho" was born February 1, 1928 in Dawson, NM to Cleofus & Rosa Perez Zepeda. He had 6 siblings; Mary Vigil, Julia Garcia, Concepcion Galarneau, Sara Solorio, Elisa Rodriguez, and Angel Zepeda.
Our dad enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1945. He met and married the love of his life, our beloved mother, O'tila Rodriguez Zepeda, who were married well into their golden years. They built a loving, forever home in Verde Lee, AZ, and have 3 children; Johnny (Mary) Zepeda, Debbie Z. Sanchez (Robert Merino), and Anna Z. Salcido.
Dad worked at Phelps Dodge Corp for many years before retiring. He attended Hold Cross Catholic Church and faithfully prayed, reading scriptures daily, remaining close to his Lord and Savior, when he could no longer attend mass.
Our dad enjoyed dancing, listening to Spanish & country music, watching his Raiders play, camping, fishing, puzzles, reading, and working on his truck. He was the ultimate handyman, and loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, O'tila Rodriguez Zepeda, son-in-laws Ruben M. Sanchez and Raymond Salcido, great-granddaughter Ashley Smith, great-great grandson Kahlil Sorensen, and his parents Cleofus & Rosa Zepeda.
Our beloved father, grandfather, great & great-great grandfather will be deeply missed.
