Alfredo Luna Barquin, or Fredo as he was known by his family and friends, 82, of Safford, entered into rest on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 18, 1931 in Morenci, to Juan and Soledad Barquin. He married Amelia Ruiz on November 22, 1952 in Safford. Fredo is survived by his loving wife Amelia of 61 years, of Safford; sons, Alfred John (Maria) Barquin of Thatcher, James (Lisa) Barquin of Flagstaff, and Ernest (Kim) Barquin of Tucson; daughter, Barbara (Mario) Enriquez of Safford; sisters, Carmen Saldivar of Phoenix, and Rosie Barquin of Thatcher; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Barquin and Carlos Barquin; and great granddaughter, Nevaeh Sky Enriquez. Viewing will be on Friday, June 7, 2013 starting at 5 p.m. with Rosary prayed at 6 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Safford. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Rev. Father Edward Lucero. Interment will be in the Lebanon Cemetery.
