Alfredo U. Rojo, who went by the name of Butcher, went home with our Heavenly Father on January 4, 2013. He was son to David and Eugenia Rojo born in Morenci on October 18, 1937. He graduated from Morenci High in 1955. After graduation, Alfredo joined the United States Army. He served as an Airborne Paratrooper for 3 years. Alfredo came back to Morenci and went to work for Phelps Dodge and retired after 43 years. On August 5, 1994 he married, Lydia Cervantez, his beloved wife of 18 years. Together they created a loving home in Safford enjoyed by many loved ones and friends. Alfredo enjoyed fishing, feeding wild birds, and winning at the casino. Alfredo is preceded in death by his father David T., mother Eugenia and brother Tony Rojo. He is survived by his wife Lydia; sisters, Elisa Morales, Teresa Campos, Vangie (Bob) Barber and Helena Rojo; numerous nephews and nieces, stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and also his God-Daughter Lydia Garcia. A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Safford, with rosary being lead at 10 a.m. at the church. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima, with Father Edward Lucero as Celebrant.
