Alice Spivey, a beautician and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024, in Safford, Arizona, leaving behind a legacy brimming with humor, warmth, and creativity. Born on January 29, 1940, in the picturesque town of Bisbee, Arizona, Alice lived a life marked by her indomitable spirit and zest for laughter that resonated through every corner of her day-to-day existence.
Her journey in life was richly adorned with experiences. After earning her GED, Alice realized her passion for beauty and aesthetics, which led her to graduate from Eastern Arizona College's beauty school. In 1990, she proudly received her Beautician License, embarking on a career that not only nourished her own creative desires but also delighted many who sat in her chair, transforming not just their appearances, but infusing them with her infectious joy.
Alice's heart found its match in Robert D. Spivey Sr., whom she married in the charming backdrop of Bisbee. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, sharing dreams and creating memories until Robert’s passing. Their love story continues to inspire those who remain, as does the enduring spirit of Alice's remarkable personality. Even at the age of 84, she was a vibrant soul who kept up with the latest music, embodying an effervescent charisma that was truly her own.
Throughout her life, Alice found bliss in her hobbies, particularly in the realms of arts and crafts. Her hands crafted not only beautiful creations but also bonds of love and friendship that enriched her relationships. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she took immense pride in her family, leaving behind a close-knit tribe who will forever cherish her memory: her son Robert Spivey, daughter-in-law Blanca Spivey, daughters Brenda and Deborah Spivey, and brother Joseph Estrada. Her legacy cascades through the generations, celebrated by her grandsons Sam Spivey, Matt Spivey and James Garcia, granddaughters Stacy Garcia and Chevonne Garcia, alongside twelve great-grandchildren who knew the unconditional love of their grandma. Alice's warmth and humor will be profoundly missed by her family, including her beloved dogs, Caser and Cindy, who stood faithfully by her side.
While she was ushered into the embrace of eternity, she is welcomed by those she has loved and lost—her husband Robert Spivey, Sr., parents Daniel and Mary Ann Chavez Estrada, brother Daniel "Porky" Estrada, and granddaughter Stephanie Spivey.
In remembrance of Alice Spivey, let us carry forward her radiant spirit, her laughter that echoed like music in our hearts, and her unwavering love that lights the way for those she cherished. May she rest in eternal peace, wrapped in the arms of her loved ones.
