Alicia Remirez

Alicia Ann Settle Remirez, 48, of Thatcher, AZ went to be with the Lord on November 20th, 2009 following a long illness. Alicia was born in Safford on March 26, 1961 to the parents of Phillip and Georgia Settle Sr. After moving to Morenci, Alicia graduated with honors from Morenci High School in 1979 and was awarded the National Merit Scholarship. After graduating from Baylor University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Alicia attended graduate school at the University of Houston. Alicia will always be remembered as a devout Christian and a loving daughter and sister. She enjoyed playing the piano and cooking for friends and family. Alicia will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and devotion to family. Alicia was preceded in death by her father, Phillip K. Settle in 2001. She is survived by her mother Georgia Settle, her brothers Phillip K. Settle Jr. of Temple, TX, Mark Settle of Grand Canyon, AZ, Hillary (Justin) Waters, Luke Waters (nephew), and Erin Waters (niece) of Pima, AZ. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church of Thatcher.
