Allen Conger

June 3, 1946 — December 25, 2007

Allen Wayne Conger 1946-2007 Allen Conger of West Valley City, Utah died Christmas Day, 2007, after a brief illness. Allen was born June 3, 1946, in Ogden, Utah. With his family, Allen lived throughout the Southwest and in Florida as a boy, before moving to Denver in 1963. A lifelong patriot, Allen proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was married to Kathy Griffin of Denver. He became a father in 1972 when their daughter Michelle was born. In his day, Allen was a skilled carpenter and he enjoyed working on projects at home. His favorite pastime was going to Wendover with his nieces and nephews. Allen was a tremendous help to his mother and enjoyed the company of his brothers, his uncles and their families. He is survived by his mother, Florence Conger of West Valley City;his daughter, Michelle Petty of Denver and her two children Will and Ian; his brothers, Ronald, Craig and Joel Conger; nephews, Ronald, Corey, Scott, Coleman and Cameron; nieces, Chantel, Joelle, Joelee, Christine and Amie; great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts and uncles, and the spouses of his brothers, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his service buddy and lifelong friend, Al Weider, who served side by side with Allen in Vietnam, and Als wife Cathy. Allen was preceded in death by his father Jay Conger, his grandparents, one great-niece and one great-nephew. Memorial service at 2:30 pm, Friday, December 28, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road.
