Alma Benally, 64, of San Carlos, passed away April 19, 2016 at her home with her family at her side. She was born April 10, 1952 in San Carlos to Elson & Katherine Brown. She attended schools at San Carlos Elementary, Globe Junior High and Phoenix Indian School. She received awards for 1st Attendant Shiwo'ye & Schich'ine Saan. Alma loved to read the Bible, sewing, hunting, camping, fishing, Peridot minor, acorn picker, camp meetings, revivals, picking Apache berries and preaching the word of God. She was a Pastor at the House of God (Middle Verde) and in her spare time she was an elderly mentor, teachers aide. She is survived by her husband, Bradley Benally, Sr., and children; Daryl Brown, Anthony Bush, Jr. Angiela Bush-Dewey, Bradley Benally, Jr., Bryan Benally, Katheryn Benally, Loretta Benally, Reese Wesley, Maurice Benally, Blair Benally & Andrea Dewey, siblings; Gloria Cassa, Evelyn Ward, Emily Browning, Elson Brown, Jr., Al-Tennyson Brown, Sr. Leland Brown & Terry Brown, 24 Grandchildren & 13 Great-grandchildren. Alma is preceded in death by her parents, Elson & Katherine Brown, Andreena Brown, Alvin Brown & Michael Brown. A wake will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Benally residence in San Carlos. The funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Burdette Memorial Hall in San Carlos beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Mormon Hill Cemetery in San Carlos.
