Alta Brinkerhoff Lillywhite 1910 ~ 2008 Alta Brinkerhoff Lillywhite passed away on Monday, February 4, 2008 in West Valley City, Utah. Born May 18, 1910 to James and Sarah Eagar Brinkerhoff in Woodruff, Navajo County, Arizona. Married to Horace Leland Lillywhite November 9, 1928 in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple. He passed away on September 27, 1982. Mother of 12 children and 465 descendants who have given about 270 years of missionary service for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She grew up in Woodruff and after marriage lived in St. Johns, Snowflake and Taylor, Arizona. She has also lived in Logan and Parowan, Utah; Mesa, Arizona, and for the past 21 years has lived with her daughter, Viola, in West Valley City, Utah. A faithful, devoted member of the LDS Church, she held many callings throughout her long life, including, Primary President, Relief Society Worker and Ordinance Worker in the Mesa Temple. She was a Stake Missionary for many years and later in life served a full-time mission in Oklahoma with her husband. They loved missionary work. Alta loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. Her favorite activity was visiting with her family and many friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survived by 5 daughters: Wilma Brooks, Viola Thurber, Fern Andersen, Frances Jones, Shirley Mayo; 3 sons: Robert Lee, Kenneth Leo, David Ross; sister, Jayne Brimhall. Preceded in death by her husband; sons, Leland Junior, James Owen and Charles B; daughter, Lucy Jane. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel at 3963 South Peachwood Drive (3500 West). Friends may call Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Interment, Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery, Taylor, Arizona on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 4 p.m.
