Amelia Rodarte

Amelia L. Rodarte, 81, passed away at her home in Safford on June 29, 2013. Amelia was born to Rafael and Amelia Perez Lizarraga in Tempe, Arizona. Amelia attended school in Mexico. The family traveled back and forth from Arizona and Sonora, Mexico during the depression. In 1970 they moved to Ajo, Arizona making that their permanent home. She is survived by her children Josfina (Francisco) Perez of San Manuel, Blanca Cabral of Safford, Jose (Susana) Cabral of Tucson, Victor (Mary-Donna) Lizarraga of Safford, Maria (Michael) Gaxiola of Tucson, Rosa (Ray) Rivas of Marana, and Martha Rodarte of Tucson, 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Amelia is preceded in death by her parents Rafael and Amelia Lizarraga, and her siblings. A viewing will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. with Rosary being recited at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Interment will be held at a later date in the Safford Cemetery.
