HANCOCK, ANGELINE CLAWSON Angeline Clawson Hancock of Mesa, AZ passed away on April 16, 2013 at the age of 83. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Angie was born in Safford, Arizona on April 20, 1929 to Edna Allen Clawson and Charles Moses Clawson, Jr. She attended Safford High School where she was a cheerleader, played the drums in band, the bass in orchestra, and sang in the glee club. Angie met her husband, Max, at a Mickey Mouse Club meeting at the Safford Theater when she was in sixth grade. The two dated throughout high school and were later married on June 1, 1947 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Angie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions of service in the church. Her life-long love of music blessed the lives of many through her years of service as a chorister, accompanist, and organist. She particularly enjoyed serving as an Ordinance Worker and Organist in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Though she experienced many challenges throughout her life, she remained steadfast in her faith and kept her sense of humor to the very end, despite her declining health. She is survived by Max, her loving husband of over 65 years; their five children: Maxine (Mel) Faraoni, Evelyn (Grant) Harless, Pamela (Steve) Fort, David (Lisa) Hancock, and Christopher Hancock; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; her sister, Edna Rae Montierth; sister-in-law, Olive Clawson; and lots of loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five of her siblings Congressman Del Clawson, Harry Clawson, Louise Cosseboom, C. B. Clawson, and Helen Johns; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held at the LDS church building located at 1415 E. Southern Avenue in Mesa, AZ from 68 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013 and from 9:009:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Services will be held at 10 a.m. at the same location. Interment will follow in the Thatcher, AZ Cemetery at 4:30 p.m..
