Angie Haswell

October 29, 1949 — July 14, 2011

Angie Ray Haswell, 61, of Guthrie, Arizona passed away on July 14, 2011 at her home. Angie was born on October 29, 1949 in Coos Bay, Oregon. She graduated from Albany Union High School in Albany, Oregon. After High School she attended Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Oregon where she studied nursing and became a Registered Nurse and worked at St. Charles hospital. It was there that she met and married her husband Rick and began driving log haul trucks and long haul trucks. She continued driving until 1991 when they moved to the Safford area where she worked in the Occupational Health and Safety field for B&W Commercial Contractors and did a lot of MSHA training for contractors at Freeport McMoRan in Morenci. Angie had a passion for horseback riding, gardening and the outdoors and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She lived life to the fullest and every day was a new adventure. She will be truly missed! Family members that Angie left behind include her husband Richard Rick Haswell of Clifton, Arizona; her son Lanny Sumpter of Albany, Oregon; her daughter Jamie Cole of Safford, Arizona; her step-son Tyler (Pamela) Haswell of Safford, Arizona, and two grandsons Isaac Haswell and Marshall Haswell; sisters Jan Wade of Albany, Oregon, Nena Murray of Sacramento, California, and Kelly Christason of Albany, Oregon; a brother Kent Christason of Albany, Oregon, and her father-in-law Dale Haswell of Clifton, Arizona. A celebration of Angies life will be held at the Haswell home on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. for all of her friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Susan G. Coman Breast Cancer Foundation, as this would be Angies wish.
