Angie Zuniga

September 29, 1942 — March 21, 2017

Angie Colvin Zuniga, 74, of Safford, passed away March 21, 2017. She was born September 19, 1942 in Morenci, AZ to Richard & Reyes Colvin. Angie and her family moved to San Jose, AZ in 1953 where she attended Solomonville Elementary School and later graduated from Safford High School. Her first job, one of many, was as a secretary for Safford's first radio station. She also worked for the Five & Dime Store, J.C. Penny's, bartended at the San Jose Lodge, Glenn Bar Gin and Camp Trails Factory. The last job she had and enjoyed was working with handicapped children and the elderly. She enjoyed eating Mexican food, listening and dancing to music, watching the game shows on T.V., going to the casino but most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren, her Nina Angelita Smith, comadre Hermilinda Hortelano, comadre Norma and her very best friend Mario Haunduraga. Angie is survived by her children; Terry, Randy, Steve, Debbie, Frankie and her adopted daughter, Mario Soccoro. She was preceded in death by her baby sister Pricilla, 3 of her grandchildren, her son Tommy and her parents Richard & Reyes Colvin. Services for Angie will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 beginning with a viewing at 9:00 a.m., Rosary being led at 10:00 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery. After the burial, all are welcome to the St. Rose of Lima reception hall for food and gathering of Angie's family and friends. Angie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her dearly. The family would like to express how deeply we appreciate all who have been there for Angie throughout her life.
