Ann R. Dodd 1937 ~ 2010 Cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend died peacefully at home July 2, 2010, after a prolonged, hellish fight with Lupus. Born July 26, 1937, in Rexburg, Idaho to Val and Mozelle Richman; raised in Marfa, Texas and Bountiful, Utah. Lived most of her life in Taylorsville, Utah. Ann was a proud Ute fan, Crimson Clubber, Lumpys regular, and loved being loathed by players and fans of the Pecksniffian academy of docility and hermetics to the south. A peerless softball, band and taxi Mom, she logged thousands of miles moving drums, guitars, softball equipment, and kids throughout the country-Go Gulls. She loved to golf, bowl, travel, and yell at softball umpires. Crowned Miss Go-Cart, 1955; graduated from Davis High in 1955-Go Darts. Survived by her adoring husband Wes Dodd; her appreciative children; Jim (Kate) Palmer, Cindy (Randy) Nowell, Carri (Janea) Palmer, Steve (Holly) Dodd, Cathy (Fred) Johnson; brothers, Jack, Dean, and Reed Richman; sisters; Donna Park, and Jean Carroll; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and dozens of friends and neighbors whom she loved and considered family. Preceded in death by her parents and step-daughter, Susan Dodd. Funeral services will be Wednesday July 7, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Holladay United Church of Christ, 2631 East, Murray-Holladay Road, Holladay, Utah. The family will greet family and friends on Tuesday evening, July 6th, 2010, 6-8:00 p.m and Wednesday, 10- 10:45 a.m prior to services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Anns name to the Lupus Foundation at: www.utahlupus.org. Extreme gratitude goes to her daughters, Cindy, Carri, Janea, and Kate, and the professionals of Sunbrook Home Health and Hospice, who worked tirelessly caring for and keeping Ann comfortable during her final months.
