Ann Peevey

November 26, 1931 — February 6, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of 92 year old Ann Vere Peevey, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ann peacefully departed from this world on February 6, 2024, in Safford, Arizona, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 26, 1931, in the picturesque town of Prescott, Arizona, to Lawrence Vernal Gifford and Beatrice Adair Gifford. Ann was the cherished sister of Curtis, Whylene, Dohrene, Elwood, Oran, Wayne, Yvonne, and Martha.

During her formative years, Ann attended Phoenix Union High School, where she developed a strong work ethic and a passion for learning. Although she did not receive a diploma, Ann's determination and resilience propelled her forward in life, enabling her to excel in various endeavors.

On March 1, 1952, Ann united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Bob Peevey, in Elfrida, Arizona. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. As a devoted mother, Ann raised four wonderful children: Marilyn, Rob, Andy, and Valerie. Family was of utmost importance to Ann, and she lovingly nurtured her children, instilling in them a strong sense of values and a deep appreciation for the meaning of family.

Ann dedicated several years of her life to working in the food service industry within the education sector. Her warm smile and compassionate nature brightened the lives of countless students and colleagues. Ann's commitment to her profession extended beyond her role, as she firmly believed in the transformative power of education.

Outside of her professional life, Ann found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for reading and painting, which allowed her to express her creativity and reflect upon the beauty of the world around her. An avid seamstress, Ann lovingly sewed clothes for herself and her beloved family, ensuring they were always dressed in clothes made with her tender care and attention to detail.

Above all, Ann was immensely proud of her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished the time spent with her nine grandchildren and marveled at the precious gift of twelve great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Ann's nurturing spirit and unwavering love will forever be etched in their hearts, shaping the memories they will carry with them into the future.

Ann was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She actively participated in various church activities and held callings, embracing the principles of faith, service, and love. Her commitment to her spiritual journey brought comfort and solace to her life, guiding her through various trials and triumphs.

As we gather to honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Ann Vere Peevey, we invite family, friends, and community members to join us in bidding her farewell. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m., where we will reminisce, share stories, and find solace in the memories we hold dear.
