APRIL HEMMING DALTON MaDe 1956 ~ 2008 Our sweet loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully in her home on January 8, 2008 after a valiant struggle with Pulmonary Hypertension. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. April Louise Hemming was born October 6, 1956 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Wallace Reid and Marion Louise Hemming. She was raised in the Holladay area of Salt Lake City and graduated from Skyline High School in 1975. She married the love of her life, Glenn M. Dalton on September 21, 1976 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was blessed with three rambunctious boys and was honored to be called their mom. April enjoyed playing games, being with family and friends, going to plays and crocheting things for others. Her contagious smile and outgoing personality could brighten anyones day. She loved flowers and making beautiful arrangements from her flower gardens. Her greatest love was for the gospel and her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she knows will be waiting with open arms to embrace her as He welcomes her home. As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints April served in the Relief Society, Young Women and Primary organizations with her favorite being leading the young children as Primary Chorister. She loved all children, but felt like her life was complete with the birth of her grandchildren, Laurel and Luke. In fact she chose her nickname MaDe, which stands for Grandma Dalton, to help her grandkids know which grandma they were talking about. However, she refused to let the kids refer to grandpa as PaDe (for obvious reasons). She is survived by her loving husband Glenn, her three favorite sons Kamron (Maren), Tyler and Justin (Megan); her wonderful grandchildren Laurel and Luke; sister, Holly (Lee) VanDam; and brothers, Reid (Toni) Hemming and Greg (Sandy) Hemming. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and mother-in-law. The family expresses their love and appreciation to Aprils professional caregivers and also wishes to thank family and friends for all the expressions of love shown to April throughout her illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 1:00 p.m. in the Sarah Jane Chapel, 5422 South Sarah Jane Drive (5240 West). A viewing will be held Friday, 5 - 8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Saturday at the church, 12 - 12:45 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates
