Ardith McBride

Ardith Maloy McBride, 88, formally of the Gila Valley, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2016 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on March 27, 1928, the 2nd daughter to Edward and Queenola Maloy. She grew up in Ashurst, Arizona and attended school in Ft. Thomas. She graduated from there and went on to college at Gila Jr. College, known today as Eastern Arizona College. She continued her education earning a degree in education as a teacher from BYU. After WWII was over she met the love of her life, Warren McBride. They were married on June 5, 1947 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. At the time of Warren's passing in 2008, they had celebrated 61 years together. They have 4 children, Ken, Gerilyn, Jeannie and Kara. Ardith served in various callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including a mission in the 1970's with her husband, Warren. They also served in the Mesa Arizona Temple as temple workers. They both loved to do temple work in their spare time. She is survived by 3 daughters and a daughter-in-law; Gerilyn (Carlos) Goseyun of Bylas, AZ, Jeannie (Stephen) Evans of Chandler, AZ, Kara (Gary) Herrin of Morenci, AZ and Lena McBride of Page, AZ. She had 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Ardith was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, her son Ken and her parents Edward and Queenola Maloy. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ft. Thomas Chapel beginning with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Pima Cemetery.
