Ardyth Adele Driscoll 1922 ~ 2009 Ardyth Adele Jones Driscoll passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, July 8, 2009 in South Jordan, Utah. Born June 5, 1922 in Sterling, Idaho, daughter of Thomas Henry and Delila Porter Jones. Married Allen A. Driscoll November 1, 1950; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Ardyth served proudly in the US Navy. Employed 25 years with the Salt Lake City Board of Education Speech and Hearing Dept. where she was known as Sarge. She had many talents including knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and embroidery projects. She loved to draw and was very talented, winning awards for her drawings and oil paintings. One of her greatest talents was her expression of words. She loved to write poems and stories, several of which were published. She was a gifted and talented woman. Ardyth had a strong testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which was the foundation of her life. She loved and spent many hours working on her family genealogy and had a great love of collecting precious memories of family events. Survived by her husband, Allen; daughters: Shannon (Craig) Rasmussen, Karen (Chris) Pohlman, Suzanne (Richard) Rosa; son, Allen D. (Kristyn) Driscoll; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren (1 great granddaughter due in August); brothers: Ivan and Elwin Jones; sisters: Retha Gillet and Renae Putnam. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Dean and Wendell Jones; sisters: Leah Chick and Delpha Clayson. A special thanks from the family to her care giver, Christie, at Millcreek Home Hospice, the fine staff at Alta Ridge Assisted Living Center and to Dr. Craig Harmon for his many years of caring and dedication to mother. Mom, we love you and will miss you dearly. A viewing will be held Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Graveside service will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4330 South Redwood Road.
