Arlene McKinnon

Arlene Flitton McKinnon 1919 ~ 2009 Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, peacefully passed away November 3, 2009. Born February 6, 1919 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the third of eight children of John Parley Flitton and Sarah Ann Chadburn Flitton. She was a member of the LDS Church. Mom married our father, Grant L. McKinnon October 24, 1939, her sweetheart of 51 years, prior to his passing in January, 1991. Mom is survived by her children: Lynn (Laurie) McKinnon, JoAnn Matson (Ron), Bob (Angie) McKinnon, Paul (Jacque) McKinnon, Valerie (Tim) Durham, Deb McDonald and Michael Frost. She leaves behind her siblings: Arvin Flitton, Winton Flitton, Bernice Thurgood, Glen Flitton, Elnor Chiles, Don Flitton, and Dale Flitton; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and a very dear friend, Elsie Ainge. Preceded in death by her loving husband and granddaughter, Christa McKinnon, who was most dear to Moms heart. Our family extends heart-felt thanks to the 3-South medical staff at St. Marks Hospital and especially to Dr. Scott Hacking for his compassionate care. Mom will be honored for her devotion to her family at services to be held Monday, November 9, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where friends may call Sunday, 6-8 p.m. and Monday, 10-10:45 a.m. Please respect Moms final wish: There will be no tears ~ only love, laughter and memories of the fun times. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. Mom, we will hold you in our hearts forever.
