Arletta Whetten Taylor, 95
Arletta Whetten Taylor, 95, of Safford AZ, passed away January 29, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Arletta was born in Colonia Juarez, Mexico to Leonard and Lettie Whetten on August 9, 1922.
She attended high school at the Academy in Colonia Juarez and after graduating, she taught school in Colonia Pacheco. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, dancing, music, and spending time with her family. Arletta was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was very loyal to her family, had unconditional love for everyone, and served others her entire life.
Arletta is survived by her sisters Ella Anderson, of Mesa, AZ., Lenna Smith of Mesa, AZ., and Betty Jo (Fred) LaMarca; daughters Beverly (Roland) Shupe, Jeanette (Gary) Graham, Rosalie (Walt) Turley, Lillian (Rolando) Flores; sons LaSelle (Fabiola) Taylor, Lamar (Joni) Taylor and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Loren LaSelle Taylor, her parents, Leonard and Lettie (Beecroft) Whetten, her stepmother Wilmirth (Skousen) Whetten, two sisters Maurine and Melvina, sons Stewart and Carlos Taylor and granddaughter Shannon Dominguez.
Visitation will be held at McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel in Safford on Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral services at 10:00 a.m. at the Mt. Graham LDS Chapel on US Hw191. Interment will follow at the Artesia Cemetery.
