Arlette Welch

April 21, 1927 — November 16, 2008

Arlette Ann Johnson Welch 1927 ~ 2008 Arlette Ann Johnson Welch took Jesus hand and was lead to heaven on November 16, 2008, following a lengthy illness. She was born to Andy and Annie Sunderlang Johnson on March 21, 1927 at home in Osnabrock, North Dakota, during a blizzard. Arlette graduated from schools in Minnesota, North Dakota and Montana. She picked potatoes for high school clothes as well. During WWII, Arlette worked in a defense plant in Tacoma, WA. In Montana, she worked as a gas station owner as well as a postal clerk, when stamps were 3 cents. Other duties were church organist for 14 years, schoolboard clerk, crop-hail insurance agent and casualty insurance underwriter. She traveled to Utah with a construction crew, who built the first three condo complexes in Park City, then set up permanent residence in Salt Lake working for Sperry-Univac for 13 years in the engineering and publications dept., the defense systems division with top CIA security. Arlette became a lifetime member in ELCA Lutheran Church where she enjoyed choir. She participated in the Utah Garden Club, progressive dinners, pinochle playing and enjoyed water and oil painting and was a gourmet chef. She loved to laugh and share jokes Those surviving her include her daughter, Vicki Danhof, Bozeman, MT; grandson, Kevin Carlberg, Everett, WA; great-grandsons, Anthony, Billings, MT; Kaleb, Seth, and Jacob, Everett, WA; her son, Jeffrey Ross Spicher; grandsons, Nirguna, Pariksit (Rick), Vaishava Victor; and granddaughter, Mercy Kretina, Moundsville, WV; sister-in-law Pamela Mohn, Murray, UT; also extended family: Jane Welch, Dave Welch, Barb Rice, Don Welch, dozens of cousins, and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-dad, Syver Nordby; husband, Lloyd (Bud) Welch; former husbands, David Spicher and Lloyd Mohn. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 21, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mathews Lutheran Church, 5200 South 2700 West. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park. She was loved by all.
