Arturo G. Luna, 87, of Clifton, Arizona passed away on October 16, 2009. Arturo was born to Severo Luna and Amelia Gutierez in Miami, Arizona on July 15, 2009. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was part of Normandy. He received the Purple Heart Award for his bravery. Arturo worked for the U.S. Postal Service and Phelps Dodge Corporation. He was active in the Catholic Church and a member of the Legionnaire Post 28. Some of his hobbies include carpentry, handyman, listening to Spanish music, gambling and camping. He is survived by his children Cecilia (Fred) Perez, Stella (Rumaldo) Romero, Olga (Leo) Miller, his brother Albert Luna and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Refugia Luna, his parents, his son Henry W. Luna, 3 brothers, 1 sister,1 grandchild and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services for Arturo will be held October 22, 2009 at Sacred Heart in Clifton, Arizona with the Rosary at 9:00 a.m. and the Funeral Mass to follow. Interment will follow the service at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Morenci, Arizona. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Church or American Legion.
