Barbara Edwards

Barbara Jackson Edwards, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in York Valley with her family by her side on July 18, 2013. She was born May 13, 1928 in Morenci, AZ to Buck & Minnie Martin. She attended school at the Upper Eagle Creek Schoolhouse until the 4th grade when the family moved to Clifton where she attended Clifton schools and graduated in 1945. While attending high school, she met William Odell Jackson and they were married in 1946. To this union was born two children, Sharon (Charlie) Benson, Martin (Patty) Jackson, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. Odell passed away in 1984. Barbara worked at many different jobs, but her last 23 years she worked for Ed Danenhauer Ins. In September of 1988, Barbara & E.B. Edwards (Beaver) were married. She then added to her family two step daughters, Sue (Chip) May, and Patti (Merrel) Burk, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She retired from her job in 1988 so they could split their time between Alpine and York. In 2006, Beaver sold his Alpine home and they lived full time in York Valley. Memorial services will be held at Caldwell Funeral Chapel in Safford on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 11:00 am. Services are under the direction of McDougals Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
