Barbara Gasparich

October 14, 1938 — August 14, 2020

Barbara J. Gasparich passed away on August 14, 2020, at the age of 81. She was born on October 14, 1938, in Mountainair, New Mexico to Elbert Elvis Cosby & Myrtle Medders Cosby with siblings Davey & Wanda. Barbara graduated from the old Morenci High School in 1956. She was blessed with the births of her two children Carol & Gary. She enjoyed bowling, singing, dancing, and taking care of her children & grandchildren. Barbara is also a cancer survivor, a supporter of all of the athletic events her children and grandchildren participated in. She worked for the mine and was a floatation operator in the mill for many years before retiring. Barbara then spent her time taking care of her grandkids, working at Dairy Queen, and working for Fairbanks Middle School as a crossing guard. She was always excited to see and talk to all of the kids and their parents. Daily she would greet them with a wave and her beautiful smile. "Barb" was known for stuffing boxes inside of boxes, and loving surprises. She often was heard saying "don't take any wooden nickels", and "count to ten!" She was the happiest, loving, caring individual that ever lived. Barb is survived by her daughter Carol and her son Gary Gasparich, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Davey Cosby and her sister Wanda Carr. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at 8:00 am at the Sunset Church of Christ in Morenci with funeral service following at 9:00 am. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery following service. A meal will be served at the American Legion following services. The family requests that the public wear masks at the services.
