Bernice Sadie Gardner Harding Sprague 1921-2010 Bernice Sadie Gardner Harding Sprague passed away peacefully, with family by her side, in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 11, 2010. Sadie was born in Springville, Utah on September 30, 1923, to Harold Barclay Gardner and Rachel Reynolds Gardner. The family moved to Provo, Utah where she graduated from Provo High School. She married Max E. Harding in 1942 and they later divorced. In 1977 she married Richard F. Sprague in Salt Lake City and the marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many positions. For 25 years she worked as a secretary in the administrative offices of the Granite School District. After living in Utah for most of her life, in 1993, she and her husband, Rich, moved to Lincoln City, Oregon. After his death in 2008, returned to Salt Lake in 2009 to be nearer her family. Sadie is survived by four of her children: Ronn E. (Jan) Harding, Marietta, Georgia; Phillip A. (Thana) Harding, Salt Lake City; Peggy A. Magid, Salt Lake City; Vicki I. Harding, Mesa, Arizona. A son, Paul Russell Harding, preceded her in death. Her other survivors include: sister, Ruth (Wayne) Persson; step-children: Suzanne (Clive) Langley, Melodie (Rich) Grohmann, and Cheryl Ampania, all of California; and Victoria (Paul) Hinks, London, England; 20 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 12:00 noon at the Monument Park 14th Ward, 2255 South Wasatch Drive, Salt Lake City, with a viewing an hour before the service. She will be interred at the Taft Pioneer Cemetery next to her husband, Rich, in Lincoln City, Oregon, over-looking the ocean that she loved. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
