Bessie E. Hochstettler Together Again Bessie (Betty) E. Hochstettler passed away April 27, 2009 with her daughter Pam at her side. She was born May 13, 1922 to Solon and Amy Edwards in Manti, Utah. Betty was raised in Sterling, UT and enjoyed farm life and trips to the mountains with her family. Betty was always concerned for others, especially her mother who was sick much of her life. She attended West High School in Salt Lake City. She moved to California where she met and married Francis Hochstettler in 1945. After her husbands separation from the military, they moved to Ohio where they farmed and worked in real estate as a team while raising their family. They were parents to Gay (Jay), Darrel (Debra), Pam (Reed) and David (Patty). She has a total of 19 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. After their children were grown, they moved to Utah in 1973 so they could be close to their family. Mother and Dad lived in many places in the Logan and St. George areas in Utah. Betty had a deep faith that sustained her through many trials. Mother was a great cook and loved to see her family enjoy her delicious meals, especially during the holidays and other family gatherings. She took great delight in being with her children and grandchildren who where the delight of her life. To keep busy in her later years mother crocheted many hats for the Humanitarian Center. After her husbands death, Betty moved to South Jordan where she was quick to make friends and was dearly loved for her service and friendship at Cornerstone and Legacy. Ill health landed her at Highland Care Center. We wish to thank those who cared for mother during this difficult time. The care givers at Legacy and Highland Care Center gave excellent care and support to our family.
