Bette Johnson

Bette Johnson Beloved Mother Bette LaVerne Tidwell Johnson, 75, passed away peacefully March 1, 2008, surrounded by loved ones. Born January 31, 1933 in McGill Nevada, daughter of David Harvey and Cleo Peterson Tidwell. Married Merlin Johnson May 25, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple; he preceded her in death August 15, 2004. She graduated from BYU in 1957 and received her Masters Degree in 1990. She taught school for 30 years, of which more than 20 years were spent teaching at David Gourley Elementary. Her greatest love in life was spending time with her family. She loved teaching and music. She also loved the gospel with all her heart and held many church callings. Survived by children: Cary (Heather), Jeff (Julie), Hal (Jodie), JoLynn (David) and JaNae (Derek); 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Also preceded in death by parents; son, Andrace; brother, Gary. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held, 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
