Betty Jewell Cluff, 87, of Safford, entered into eternal rest on April 23, 2017. Betty was born November 14, 1929 in Safford to H. "Skeet" & Jewell Bowman.
She was the oldest of six children. Some of her fondest memories of her younger years were spent growing up on her father's Hidden Haven Ranch with her younger sisters. When the time came to start school, she and her family moved to Klondyke, AZ where she attended school. The family then moved to Pima where she attended elementary school and then later graduated from Safford High School.
Betty met the love of her life, Lamar Cluff, and they were married on December 30, 1949 in Phoenix, AZ. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa LDS Temple on February 12, 1965. Betty & Lamar were blessed with four wonderful children; Marlene, Mary Sue, Houston & Julie. Betty loved being a mother to her children and a grandmother to her grandchildren and always cherished the time that they had together with them. Although she had many trials and health issues she always had a loving and positive attitude that was felt by all and will be missed by all. She truly endured to the end.
Betty is survived by her sweetheart of 67 years, Lamar, her daughter Marlene Hansen of Safford, her daughter Mary Sue (Rick) Kerby of Gilbert, AZ, her son Houston (Julie) Cluff of Safford, her daughter Julie (Shim) Bennett of Willcox, AZ, 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren & 2 great-great grandchildren.
Services for Betty will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 beginning with a viewing at 8:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Safford Stake Center. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery.
