Betty Deck

Betty Lou Deck, age 73, passed away at MGRMC, Saturday, December 19, 2009. She was born on Nov. 21, 1936, the daughter of Sidney Allen and Mary Lucille (Harrison) Wyckoff, at Vinton, Iowa. She resided there until 1970, when she moved here to Safford with her second husband, Frances Deck, her son Rick Yearian, and a stepson, Scott Deck. A daughter, Lori, had left home and lives in Montana. Betty loved her family, and will be missed by them and many, many friends. In 1980 Betty and Frances moved to Alpine and then Apache Junction, but returned to Safford in 1999. She loved hunting, fishing, and being with people, especially her family. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Frances Deck, a step-son, Scott Deck, her parents, and a half-brother, Richard. She is survived by her son Richard (Patricia) Yearian, of Safford; a daughter-in-law and grandchildren, Teri (Shelly, Wendy) Deck of Vancouver, WA; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Allen (Billie) Wyckoff, of Opelika, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband, Frances. There will be no services, but family and friends have gathered over the weekend to celebrate her life and share wonderful memories of their interaction with her.
