Betty Tipton

Betty Lou Tipton, 74 of Duncan, AZ, passed away on April 8, 2014. She was born in Morenci, AZ, on Jan. 1 1940 to Frank and Ermes Francese. Betty graduated from Duncan High School in 1957 and shortly after that same year married her life long sweetheart Terry C. Tipton. When Betty was young she worked at Ermes Department Store which was owned by her mother. Later she purchased the business and continued to operate it with the help of close friends and family until her retirement in 2002. During her life she served in various boards and clubs including the Duncan Womens Club. She held various offices and enjoyed serving her community. Betty loved sewing and cooking for her family. She created gorgeous cakes for weddings and special occasions and often the dresses for these events as well. Betty was a huge sports fan and an even bigger fan for her family. She loved attending the games of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. You could always hear her cheering from the stands. She was a race car fan and even sponsored a family racing team. She was greatly loved and will never be forgotten by those that knew her. Betty was survived by: her husband Terry C. Tipton; her brother Gary Francese; her two children Sandi Dixon and Terry D. Tipton; her six grandchildren: Jennifer Davis, Brad Davis, Lacie Ross, Thomas T.C. Dixon, Shayla McBiles, and Travis Tipton; and fourteen great grandchildren. Services for Betty will be on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 with the viewing to begin at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Father Martin Ataanga-Baabuge as Celebrant. Interment to follow at the Duncan Cemetery.
