Heaven was made a little sweeter in the wee hours of the morning, March 22, 2011 when Billie Louise (Morris) Day arrived there. Billie was born March 28, 1924 in Muleshoe, TX. She spent part of her youth near Ruby, AZ, and then moved to Morenci, AZ where she attended High School. Billie married Gene Clark Morris of New Home, TX in 1941 and lived at the 7 cross A Ranch on Eagle Creek where her oldest daughters, Norma Gene (Hamilton) and Winnie Fern (Tutor) were born. The family also lived at the AZ Highway Department yard at Gray's Peak on the Coronado Trail, where the girls attended the Eagle Creek School, then Clifton High School. The family later moved to Clifton, AZ and Morenci, AZ where they had their "second family" Audrey Yvonne (Allsbrook) and Daryn Edward Morris. In 1970, they moved to Duncan, AZ until Gene preceded Billie in death, March 13, 1990. Billie then moved to Safford Ranch Mobile Home Park. In 1994 she married Burton Day and remained in Safford the rest of her days. Billie and Burton were constant companions, in love like teenagers, and made each other very happy during their final years together. Billie leaves behind her husband, four children, eleven grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Duncan Cemetery, with Dr. Phillip Tutor officiating. Friends may call on Friday, March 25, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel in Safford.
