Bobbie Jean Flanagan, 85 of Clifton passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in Safford after a brief illness. Bobbie was born April 1, 1929 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Edgar and Callie Darity Matlock. She was the fourth of five children. Bobbie and her husband, Travis, and three younger children moved in Clifton in 1966. They took over the Clifton Food Bank in 1972 and Bobbie became known by everyone in the community. She always enjoyed camping and being with her family. Bobbie is survived by her two daughters, Saundra Summers of Clifton and Carrol (Terry) Salyer of Pima; her sister, Joyce Franklin of Lubbock, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, Travis; two sons, Travis and Wayne Flanagan; her parents, Edgar & Callie Matlock; brother, Floyd Matlock; and two sisters, Dorthy Hill and Marie Harris A viewing will be conducted on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Caldwell Funeral Chapel in Safford and again one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Caldwell Funeral Chapel. Bobbie will be laid to rest at the Pima Cemetery next to her husband, Travis.
