Bobbie Jean Layton

June 7, 1958 — July 13, 2024

Bobbie Jean Layton was born in Safford, AZ, June 7, 1958 to Bobby Ray Horlacher & Arthis Roberta Balke.

She was the eldest of 3 siblings. Bobbie spent her early childhood in Arizona and New Mexico before her family settled in Duncan, AZ. She spent her elementary and middle school attending Duncan schools.

Her family moved to Safford where she met Tony Ray Layton and they married and started a family, having 3 daughters. Bobbie loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Her love of the outdoors started as a young child growing up on her families ranches. She loved to fish and go on picnics. Bobbie’s faith was a great comfort to her during her adult years as she became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a teenager. She could be seen at her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events cheering them on. She was so grateful for everyone who came into her life.

Bobbie passed away July 13, 2024 with her daughters by her side. Bobbie is survived by her children Jennifer (Carlos) Lopez, Jocette Ward, and Samie Layton. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Melissa and Ruben Chavez (Alijah and Aluisa), Adrienne Lopez and Alexis Aguirre, Roxanne Lopez and Jacob Pedregon (Dani and Jakoby), Anthony Layton ( Elexis, James and Rhylen), Kandyce and Sean Coffey (Brodie, Karson and August), Jason and Bailey Smith (Delilah and Lukas), Kellsee Smith (Maddox), Jacob Ward, Abraham Ward, Jagger Layton, Ellah Layton, Halle Layton and great granddaughter Kaylee Johnson. She is also survived by her precious fur baby and longtime companion Starr.

She is proceeded in death by her grandson Luis Lopez Jr.  Bobbie was an inspiration reminding us to never take anything for granted. She will greatly be missed by all who knew her.

Our family will hold a private service at a later date.
