Brett Reitz

June 25, 1974 — December 27, 2009

Brett Robert Reitz Make It A Great Day Brett Robert Reitz beloved husband, father, brother and son was reunited with his heavenly family on December 27, 2009. Brett was born June 25, 1974 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert J. and Jeanne Reitz. Growing up as a young boy he was full of life and made friends easily. One friend said of Brett that he could always make people laugh and turn situations around to bring laughter. He loved being active in the outdoors, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and fishing. Every summer he looked forward to spending time in California with his family deep sea fishing and at the beach. He found his eternal companion Valorie Shimoda whom he adored and married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 9, 2008. He left behind two sons. He loved to take his son Craig fishing and bowling, and sometimes he could even beat Craig at a video game or two. He also had a wonderful bond with his newborn baby, Avery, and holding him was the highlight of each day. Brett always looked for opportunities in business. He owned a successful massage therapy practice, an import business and was also a great salesman. He will be dearly missed and we all look forward to a happy reunion in the next life. He is survived by his wife, Valorie; sons: Craig and Avery; parents, Robert and Jeanne Reitz; siblings and their spouses: Lisa (Bradlee), Nicole (Steve), Travis (Shantel), and Jeremy (Amanda), as well as nieces and nephews who he cherished very much. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at the Copperhill First Ward, 4150 South 6000 West, West Valley City. Viewings will be held at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, Friday, 6:00-7:30 p.m., and Saturday at the church from11:00-11:45 a.m. Interment, Midvale Cemetery. Family welcomes donations to the Brett Reitz Family Fund at any Mountain America Credit Union to help Valorie, Avery and Craig.
