Bruce Dixon

Bruce Alan Dixon, 31, of Safford, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017. He was born on September 20, 1985 in Tucson to Bruce Norman and Sandra Fitzsimmons Dixon. Bruce and his family moved to Safford when he was young. He grew up and graduated from Safford High in 2004. After graduation in 2005, he decided to join the U.S. Army where he served in the Iraq war in 2009 and after, in the U.S. Army reserves. He received many awards and recognitions while he served. More recently, Bruce worked at the Veteran's Administration Work Center, was a student at Pima Community College and even had his bartenders license. His priority was always his two sons, Zachary and Damian. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending his spare time with his family and friends. When he wasn't doing that, you could find him reminiscing with all the other veterans he worked with or driving around listening to his music. He also loved watching the sunsets and lightning storms as they passed through. Bruce is survived by his son, Zachary Dixon, of Safford, his parents Bruce N. and Sandy Dixon, of Safford, sister Melissa Arrellin (Brandon) of Safford and his brother Kyle Dixon (Leah) of Litchfield Park, AZ. He was preceded in death by his son, Damian Mikael Peru Dixon, his Norman, "Papa Mutt" Dixon and Grampa Les Fitzsimmons. Services for Bruce will be on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at New Life City Church in Safford. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to services, at 10 a.m.
