Biography Bruce Pike, Sr., 86, of Bylas, passed away July 2, 2015 in Globe, AZ. Bruce was born February 22, 1929 in Bylas to James Pike and Louise Jordan. He was a bus driver for Fort Thomas Schools. He loved to participate in the rodeo especially the calf roping events. Bruce Pike Sr was born on February 22, 1929 and began the life of the man that the people gathered here today were proud to call their father, their father in-law, their grandfather, and great grandfather and also their friend. On April 17, 1948, Bruce married the late Doris Hinton. Together they had ten children. Bruce grew up and raised his family in Bylas. He was a hard working man. He spent most of his life working up in the mountains as a stockman for Point of Pines, Slaughter and many other associations. Bruce also worked as an E.M.S driver for the San Carlos Apache Tribe and also a bus driver for Fort Thomas Unified School District were he retired working. Bruce enjoyed traveling to many rodeo's and participated in calf and team roping. He received many buckles as an All Around Champion Cowboy. He also enjoyed hanging out with friends having a good time. Bruce also liked taking long road trips with his family to enjoy the country scenery. Bruce was a happy man. He was always telling jokes. One in which we could recall, he would tell his grandson's girlfriends "why are you with him?, you should be with me, because he's just a crazy man." He was also a contented man, he never wanted much out of life. Just quiet pleasures, sharing his life with his wife Doris, and his children and grand children. Bruce was a sociable person. He had many friends. He was well liked and respected. Someone we have all had the great privilege of knowing. Bruce died in the early morning of Thursday, July 2nd, 2015. I know he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He leaves behind his son's: Chuck Sr, Sterling, Bruce Jr, and Pascal Pike. His daughters Fonda Cosay, Cecelia Dillion, Phyllis Parra, and Connie Wilson. Bruce is survived by his children, Chuck Pike, Jr., Fonda Cosay, Cecelia Dillon, Sterling Pike, Phillis Parra, Connie Wilson, Bruce Pike, Jr. and Pascal Pike, 30 Grandchildren and 38 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Hinton Pike, his parents; James Pike & Louise Jordan and grandchild, Sterlene Duane. A wake for Bruce will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the Pike residence. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11th at 1:00 p.m. at the Ernest Stanley Memorial Hall in Bylas with interment in the Black Point Cemetery.
