Send Flowers Byron Max Sayer March 22, 1945 - May 10, 2013 Byron Max Sayer, 68, of Thatcher, AZ formerly of Leslie, Idaho, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center. Byron was born on March 22, 1945, in Arco, Idaho, to Max W. Sayer and Thelma Lorensen Christensen Sayer. He grew up on the family farm in Leslie and attended school in the Lost River Area. He attended Ricks College, served a mission in the North California Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Married Mary Budge on December 28, 1966 in the Logan Utah Temple. He worked as a parts manager for the John Deere Implement Dealer in Mountain Home, Idaho for several years. Moved back to Leslie to operate the family farm in 1976, he owned and operated the farm until 2008. While he ran the farm he also operated three postal routes for the U.S. Post Service, for 34 years as a private contractor. Mary died on January 9, 2006. He married Enola McDougal on June 9, 2006 in Arco, Idaho. Moved to Thatcher, AZ in 2009. In Arizona he went to work for McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel, working with family doing cemetery work. He is survived by his wife Enola Sayer of Thatcher; mother, Thelma Sayer of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Marianne (Paul) Lanier of Leslie, ID; sons, Blaine Max (Robin) Sayer of Idaho Falls, Aaron B. (Kiristy) Sayer of Bowling Green, OH, Jeremy Byron (Heather) Sayer of Mountain Home, ID, and Joshua C. (Christina) Sayer of Rigby, ID; Step-children, Chylae (Jay) Dexter of Mesa, AZ, Daniel (Patti) McDougal of Pima, AZ, Jason (Jennifer) McDougal of Safford, AZ, Aaron (Rachel) McDougal of Moore, ID, Jay McDougal of Charles Town, WV, Candee (Weston) Flamm of Caldwell, ID, and Joni McDougal of Garland, UT; siblings, Loren Sayer of Leslie, ID, Roger Sayer of Salt Lake City, UT, Marcia Sayer of Virginia, Dan Sayer of Mackay, ID, and Rex Sayer of Boise, ID. Viewing will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel in Safford. Viewing will be on Friday, May 17, 2013 7-9 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home in Arco, Idaho and Funeral at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Leslie LDS Church with viewing one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Mackay Idaho Cemetery.
