C. Kent West Snoball It is with great love and sorrow that the family of C. Kent West announces the passing of the greatest husband, father and grandfather on December 26, 2009 from a fall on Christmas morning. Born September 23, 1926 in Ferron, Utah to Cloyd West and Reva Hitchcock. Married Joyce Ferre on August 15, 1947, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on March 13, 1959. Graduated from South Emery High School, where he excelled in basketball and track. Dad enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17, where he served as a signal man in World War II in the South Pacific. Shortly after the war, Dad met Mom at a dance at the Coconut Grove and they have danced with each other for the last 62 years. Kent was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His life was dedicated to his family. Dad enjoyed everything he did. He had a great passion for hunting, camping and golf with family and friends. He was on the same bowling league with Joyce for 46 years. Survived by his wife, Joyce; four children, Pam , Danny (Sharon), Sandy and Becky (Ron); 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter (any day); brother, Vorris (Stan) Livingston; sister, Val Jean Curtis; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill; grandson, Cody Rydalch. The family shares a special thanks to the nursing staff of IMC Shock Trauma Unit for their care of Dad and concern for our family. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2, 2010, 12:00 noon at the Hunter Stake Center, 3737 South 5600 West. Viewings will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday from 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
