Evans, Calvin Welker, 92, passed away Friday, March 05, 2010, at Hospice of Arizona in Peoria, Arizona. He was retired from the FBI as a Special Agent. He worked briefly for the Arizona State Board of Property Tax Appeals and also performed probate work after retirement from the FBI. He graduated class valedictorian from Phoenix Union High School in 1935 and earned his B.S. degree and Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arizona. Born on June 8, 1917, in Safford, Arizona, he was the son of the late Charles and Chloe (Welker) Evans. Surviving are his wife, Ann Johannes Evans; a sister, Helen Evans of Peoria, Arizona; a son, Philip Calvin Evans of Portola Valley, CA; a son-in-law, Robert Lee Hamilton of Olympia, WA; three grandchildren: Laura Hope Evans of New York City; Steven Lee Hamilton of Olympia, WA; and Cassie Hamilton Mahoney of Portland, Oregon; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the Safford Cemetery.
