Calvin Warren

June 3, 1926 — January 6, 2009

Calvin A Warren 1926 ~ 2009 Calvin Albert Warren, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away January 6, 2009 in South Weber, Utah as a result of Subdural Hematoma. Cal was born June 3, 1926 to Charles Albert and Effie Dean Woolley Warren. He graduated from East High School in 1943. He served his country in WWII receiving a Purple Heart in the Phillippines. After the war he met and married his sweetheart, Virginia Candland, June 5, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. Calvin was an amazing jeweler for 55 years. He worked at Hercules for 27 years retiring in 1992. Cal and Virginia then moved to St. George, Utah where they could play their favorite sport, golf. He was a wonderful dancer, singer, song writer and his humor will be missed by all who knew him. He served faithfully throughout his life in many positions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including 4 years in the St. George Temple and a three month mission in Kirtland, Ohio. Calvin is survived by his wife, Virginia; 5 children and their spouses: Paul and Debbie Warren, Cheryl and Frank Leavitt, Vickie and Rob Benincosa, Grant Warren, Eddie and Teresa Warren; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, with three on the way; brother, Edwin Warren; sister, Ellie Pendleton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009, 12:00 noon at the Bennion 6th Ward, 5775 South 2700 West where a viewing will be held at the church, 10-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 12, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Snow Canyon Stake Center, 1184 North Dixie Downs Road, St. George, Utah.
