Calvin John Weeks Dearly Loved Calvin John Weeks, 85, passed away June 1, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born September 8, 1924 in Smithfield, Utah, son of Asa David and Lily Ester Peterson Weeks. Calvin married his sweetheart, Verena Moser, in the Logan Temple June 8, 1953. She preceded him in death in 2001. Calvin developed a love for dairy cattle at a young age and was soon regarded as a local authority. He went on to own and operate a successful dairy farm in Murray, Utah. Calvin served honorably in the US Navy during WWII. One of the highlights of his life was serving an LDS Mission in Kent, England. Calvin received his Bachelors Degree at Utah State University and earned a Masters of Science at the University of Utah. During his later years he loved gardening and going to the Harmon Senior Center; come rain or shine he loved socializing with his friends. Survived by children: Jean (Don Garrison) Marchant; Joseph C. (Melissa) Weeks, William Emil Weeks, Lorraine Scarborough; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, David; sisters: Marjorie, Marian and Carol. Preceded in death by sister, Kathryn. A viewing will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the Smithfield 1st Ward, 175 South 1st West, Smithfield, UT where a viewing will be held, 10-10:45 prior to services. Interment, Smithfield City Cemetery.
