Carla LeBaron

Carla Sue Higgins LeBaron departed her earthly life on Saturday, July 13, 2024 in Tucson, AZ where she had lived for the last 20 years. 

Carla was born on January 14, 1961 to her loving parents, Jay Carl Higgins, Sr and Edith Laree Angle Higgins. She was welcomed to the family by her big sister, Nancy when she was born in Lompoc, CA.  Carla and was able to be the baby for 3 short years when Jay Carl Higgins, Jr completed the family. Carla loved being a sister. She was very proud of her big sister and her baby brother. 

Carla and the family lived in Morenci where she began elementary school. They moved to Safford where she attended and completed her education through high school. She graduated from Safford High School in 1979. After high school she took a few classes at EAC and the LDS Institute of Religion at EAC. Carla was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved primary and the young women's programs. 

Carla met and married Lyman LeBaron and gave birth to three sons, Richard Larson, Robert Larson and Donald Larson. Eventually, she and Lyman divorced and she was blessed to share her sons through adoption with her Aunt Betty Angle Larson. With Aunt Betty, Carla knew that her boys would be raised with love and the principles that would serve them well in their lives. The Larson cousins were a source of comfort and compassion as Carla faced the changes and challenges in her life. 

Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Jay C. Higgins, Sr. & Edith Angle Higgins as well as her beloved sister, Nancy Higgins Williams. She is survived by her brother, Jay Carl Higgins, Jr., her boys, numerous nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts as well as a multitude of cousins. 

Her passing has been heartbreaking, but her family is rejoicing that our beloved Carla has finally found peace in the loving arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Services for Carla will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the McDougal's Caldwell Chapel.  A viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be in the Central Cemetery following services.
