Carma Rae Pickup Loving Friend Our wonderful, fun-loving sister, aunt and friend, Carma Pickup, was born June 5, 1947 to Wayne and Donna Pickup in Roosevelt, Utah. She died November 20, 2008 after losing a short but valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Carms early education was completed in the Uintah Basin. She then went on to graduate from Utah State University. She retired from the Granite School District after teaching for many years at Evergreen Jr. High and Olympus Jr. High. Miss Pickup influenced the lives of countless teenagers. She then worked at Youth Corrections for many years as both a teacher and counselor. Carm had many talents. She entertained people with her singing and music. She was very artistic and could draw, paint, carve or sculpt anything. She always had a smile and made us laugh. She will be greatly missed. Survived by best friend and sister, Rhea (Milt) Stoddard; brother, Pete (Joan) Pickup; many nieces and nephews, a large extended family and an uncountable number of friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville 13th Ward, 1495 West Tamarack Road. Viewings will be held Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Roosevelt City Cemetery.
