Carol Kaniut

Carol Rae Kaniut, 70, of Safford, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011 at UMC, in Tucson. She was born on July 26, 1940, in Detroit, MI, to Raymond Perso and Edna Kraft. She married Peter Jon Kaniut on January 28, 1961 in Royal Oak, MI. Carol was an avid baseball fan and a Arizona Diamond Back and Michigan Tiger fan. She worked as a secretary for McGlocklin Ford, for 14 years, and for the Safford School District for 8 years. She is survived by her husband Peter; sons, Paul (Paula) Kaniut of North Branch, MI, and Ray (Chesley)Kaniut of Mesa, AZ; and Brother-in-law, Bill Laajala of Flint, MI; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Monday, August 1, 2011 at The Caldwell Funeral Chapel. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
