Cecil Evans

July 27, 1944 — April 1, 2025

Cecil Lee Evans, a beloved figure whose warmth and compassion illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to know him, passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. Born on July 27, 1944, in Miami, Arizona, Cecil led a life dedicated to serving others, most notably as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). His deep understanding of the intricacies of care transformed the lives he touched while offering reassurance and comfort to countless patients in need.

Cecil’s educational journey began in his hometown, Miami, Arizona, and continued at Arizona State University and then Wesley Medical Center School of Anesthesia, where he honed his skills with a dedication that would define his approach to life and work. He devoted himself wholeheartedly to his profession, always prioritizing the well-being of others over his own.

A man of many passions, Cecil found joy in outdoor sports, including archery, golf, and elk hunting. His adventurous spirit was complemented by a fervent love for books—especially those delving into history and the captivating tales of the Southwest. Yet, beyond his professional and personal interests, it was his family that captured his heart. His favorite sayings, "I love my family" and "I am so lucky to have my family," echo the profound adoration and gratitude he held for his loved ones.

Cecil's legacy is marked by his profound relationships with his family—his son, Cecil "Lee" Evans Jr.; (Yunmi Evans); his grandson, Tom Evans; and his brother, Roger Evans (Bernice Evans)—who carry forward his spirit and the values he cherished. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will forever treasure the warmth of his infectious laughter, the joy of shared gatherings, and the depth of the love he exuded—a force that bound his family together and left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path.

The world has dimmed with his absence, leaving behind a profound void. Cecil is predeceased by his father, CL Evans; his mother, Wanda Evans; and his beloved wife of 59 years, Lucille Evans. The memories of his loving nature, his unwavering support, and his zest for life will continue to live on in the hearts of those he left behind.
