Celia R. Lucero, 96 passed peacefully on the morning of August 22nd, 2016 in Phoenix Arizona with her children by her side. Celia was born on December 8th, 1919 to Jesus and Josephina "Mina" Rodriguez in Morenci Arizona. She was the 2nd of 10 children. They were raised in Solomon Arizona where she remained until she met the love of her life, Henry Lucero. They were married on October 16, 1938 and celebrated 58 years of marriage. They raised their family in Safford Arizona and Celia resided there until the past 9 years when she moved to Phoenix with her daughter. Celia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, gg, and sister who was patient, kind, giving and always had a most beautiful smile on her face. Celia was a well-known seamstress in the Safford area and worked for many of the local businesses as well as having her own alteration shop. Celia is survived by her 2 sons, Henry Jr. "Sonny" (Cindy), Orlando, daughter Toni Ruiz (Steve), 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 9 great, great grandchildren, sisters Carmen Amperano, Esther Robles, Josie Dillon, Ophelia Hernandez, Mary Reynolds and 1 brother, Alfredo Rodriguez. Celia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, daughter Debi, sister Lucy Parra, brothers Arturo Rodriguez, and Frank Rodriguez. Services will be held on Monday August 29th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Safford, Arizona with a viewing at 8 am, rosary at 9am, and a funeral mass beginning at 10am. Interment will follow at Safford Cemetery. The Lucero family would like to thank Celia's angels Susan, Katie and Claudine from Hospice of the Valley as well as her angel caregivers, Susan, Linda, Marie and Adrianna for their compassion and dedication in making Celia's last days comfortable, dignified and surrounded with love.
