Charles J. Hansen, Jr. Chuck On August 4, 2010, Charles Joseph Hansen, Jr., a kind and gentle man, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Chuck made friends wherever he traveled. He always made those around him feel comfortable and loved. The West Desert and Uintah Mountains will be a little lonelier as those were some of his favorite places to take a day trip in his jeep. While his love for trips was great, he was good for 3 to 4 days and then needed to head for home. His most cherished possessions were his family members. Chuck was born December 22, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles J. and Christina Marie Curtz Hansen, the first son of eight children. From that day on he was known as Butch to his family. His career was in the financial business. He retired from Beehive Credit Union in June 2006, only to continue working there part-time until June 2009. Married Joan Mackay; later divorced. Married Judith Judy Kyte Ratcliffe February 1, 1963. Together they raised three sons. They spent most of their time together camping, fishing, golfing and traveling, with great trips to Lake Powell with family and friends. They were each others best friend. Survived by his wife; sons: D. Kim (Laurie) Ratcliffe and Brett J. (Brook) Hansen; 7 grandchildren: Nickolas J. (Anna) Ratcliffe, Michelle Ratcliffe Germer, Joshua J. Ratcliffe, Taylor J. Hansen, Brayden C. Hansen, Dallace Kimberley Hansen and Alyssa Woodward; great-granddaughter, Abigail Ratcliffe; sister, Charolette (Robert) Williams; brother, Milton Hansen; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by sons: Bryan J. Hansen and Randy K. Sundberg; parents; grandparents; 4 sisters; 1 brother.
