Charles A. Humphrey, 86 of Pima passed away at his home on February 3, 2011. He was born March 10, 1924 in Hollis, Arkansas. Charles served in the US Marines was honorable discharged in 1946. He married Ethel Mae Ward after he returned home from the service and moved to Morenci, where they raised their three children. They then moved to Pima after Charles retired from Phelps Dodge in 1992. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Mae Humphrey, son Charles Ray Humphrey and siblings Dwight E. Humphrey, Dovie Humphrey Smith and Lawrence I. Humphrey. He is survived by his brother Alpha W. Humphrey of Hollis Arkansas, children- Glinda Joyce (Tom) Panichi of Tucson and Linda (Zackary) Denney of Long Beach, Mississippi, daughter in-law Elaine Humphrey of Pima; six grandchildren; Lori Panichi, Leslie (Fred) Grant, Quentin Denney, Joanna (Eric) Goldsmith, Anthony Humphrey, Janet Baca; 12 great-grandchildren, Lisa Panichi, Nathaniel Reay, Sierra and Jessica Grant, EJ, Emma, and Jackson Goldsmith, Michael Bingham, Cameron and Kaitlyn Humphrey, Matthew and Ashley Baca, and; 4 great-great-grandchildren Derek Stury, Victoria Pizano, Ezara and Zarek Hales; Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Caldwell Funeral Chapel with viewing one hour prior. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Pima Cemetery.
