Charles Meek Chuck Charles Meek, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, returned home with honor September 14, 2007. His courageous battle with cancer and heart failure could not defeat his spirit. He decided it was time, after fulfilling his last wish, the Temple sealing for his parents and brother. Charles Lee Meek was born October 16, 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was the eldest of two sons born to Charles and Ola Meek. He was raised in Oklahoma and Idaho. He graduated from Boise High School and entered the Navy in 1945. Chuck married his sweetheart (Chick) Anna L. Painter August 1, 1952 in Boise, Idaho and sealed their love for eternity in the Logan Temple June 12, 1958. He provided for his family by working at Consolidated Freightways for 40 years. Charles was honest and upright in all things, holding firm to his faith of Christ. He deemed hsi family, faith and friends as the most important accomplishments in his life. He was an honorable man never committing to a talk he did not complete. His integrity and example will be remembered and respected by all those who knew him. He loved the Lord an deserved diligently in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He magnified his priesthood while working meticulously to fulfill the callings of home teacher, ward clerk, counselor in the Bishopric, Bishop, Stake Young Mens President and Scout Leader. Upon retirement Charles and his life long companion (Anna) fulfilled a mission in Leeds England. After becoming ill he satisfied his longing to serve by completing family history and temple work for many. He is survived and will be missed by his wife, Anna, of 55 years; four children: Paula Meek, Albuquerque, NM; Steven (Shauna) Meek, Farmington, UT; Michael (Astrid) Meek, Washington, Utah; Marianne (David) Panter, Midway, UT; 15 grandchildren; Mathew, Jamie, Michael, Emily, Taylor, Jennifer, Tallen, Spencer, Joshua, Jessica, Jordan, Riley, Britesha, Tresden, Brenner and soon to arrive great-grandchild; 2 sisters: Rose Marie Hartzel, Alabama and Kathy Walker, Maine; and family friend, Suzanne Lareau. The family would like to thank Care Source Hospice for making it possible to keep him home for his passing. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 21, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at the Winder 13th Ward, 1250 East 4530 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Elysian Burial Garden.
